Sleepy Surprises

We have a knack for making friends who like to bless us with free concert tickets. More realistically, we have been blessed with friends who want to bless us. Yes, that's more like it. Earlier this week Strom came home from class and told me that a buddy of his gave us tickets to see Jeremy Camp this weekend. Um, awesome! I have been wanting to see Jeremy Camp in concert again ever since I saw him perform at Soulfest in 2007! This buddy works for a local radio station, had tickets to give away, and he thought of us. How precious!

So here are a few pictures of our night! I was kicking myself the whole night that I didn't bring my DSLR. I guess I didn't think I'd be able to use it (which is the case for a lot of shows I've been to). Oh well!

Jeremy Camp was amazing. He truly was. His voice is so strong, clear and powerful that you almost forget to pay attention to his band or the show as a whole. His heart for the Lord is so visible and he brings it to the stage with a joy you don't always see in other Christian artists. So, to Jeremy Camp, I give you two thumbs up. We loved you.

Does it sound like there's a but coming? Well, there is. Here is my sleepy complaint. And I am about to display the fact that I am no longer 21-years-old. The show began at 8PM. When you factor in two opening bands and intermissions and a break for the Compassion International outreach presentation... The main act plays late. So, by the time Jeremy Camp came onto the stage (around a quarter after 10), we were dying. His energy on the stage was what kept us from dropping, but I won't lie... We were draggin'. But in our defense, Jeremy kept saying how tired he was too, so we didn't feel so badly. But yeah... My goodness, I was gone in 3 seconds by the time my head hit the pillow last night.

This morning I woke up with a massive head ache and was dragging like I had a hangover. I laughed to Strom and said, "You'd think we were out partying or something! But no... We went to a Christian concert and I didn't get my coffee last night." His laughter confirmed that I'm a big adorable baby.

I have never heard of this Jeremy Camp. I wonder if Nelson is related? ;) Probably not, but I get excited when I hear of other Camps!
