Today I'm going to change things up just a little bit. I stumbled across the most stunning wedding video to date the other day, but I just had too much fun on Wednesday night watching my guilty pleasure of a show, American Idol - and I wanted to share it with my 11 readers! :)
I haven't watched American Idol for real in years (probably since David Cook, remember him?). It became too painful and agonizing watching the contestants with horrible song choices, terrible performances and an overall "same ol' same ol'" feel. But I (we, sorry to out you, babe) love it this year. Maybe it's because life is so busy and the state of our economy (and the world for that matter) is in shambles and it's a little [free] escape from reality. And not to mention, the talent is amazing this year. So, for an hour or so on Wednesday nights at 8PM, we kick back (usually accompanied by homework and projects) with two giant mugs of coffee and enjoy the show.
This week's theme was "Elton John." I can't say I'm his biggest fan, but I have to give credit where credit is due and say he is a brilliant musician. This being said, I'm always surprised how much I enjoy "Elton John Night" ~ perhaps it brings back childhood memories or something!
Although our two favorite contestants were amazing and wildly entertaining, our favorite performance of the night actually went to miss Haley Reinhart! You have to love her soulful, bluesy sound. You be the judge!
But equally tied for second, Casey Abrams and Pia Toscano brought it again!
