Beginning Our Traditions

This year begins our first set of Christmas traditions together. It's hard to believe that in three and a half years, we've never had a shared a Christmas season. Thanksgiving and New Years, but no silver bells or sleigh rides! So, we're pretty exited to say the least!

Last night we rolled out the cookie dough (made from scratch, yes) and broke out the cookie cutters! (Okay, so they were purchased the same day, but we broke them out of the Wal-Mart bag!) And I must say... My husband is a kick-butt cookie decorator. I was put to shame. I have always loved baking sugar cookies, yet the older I get, the less patience I seem to have to go all out decorating them. I assumed my husband would be joining me to simply amuse me and my love for the holidays, but I was pleasantly surprised! Filled with endless patience, the man loved it all. And, although I hate to admit it, his cookies far outshined mine this year.

{Always making odd faces...That's just his thing!}

{Prize cookie: The Santa hat to the left. Made by none other than my hubby!}
