I think I like this warmer Virginia weather. I am used to crusty brown snow in March, not jogs in the park, tree climbing and kite flying. And I dig it! :) This past weekend Strom and I had back-to-back days in the park and it was as pleasant as could be. Saturday found us trail running and Sunday sprawled out on a blanket reading in the sunshine. Yeah, I'm kind of bragging to all my friends up north who are still bundled up (I kid, I kid... Sort of). I just giggled along the way at all the signs of spring ~ what a breath of fresh air it all was. And still is! Literally.
About those deer. Cool, right? After Strom and I ran the trail through a few times, I wanted to go play with my camera and he wanted to keep running. So I'm off snapping photos and before I know it, Strom was back and looking for me. He said he came across a deer on the trail, only to realize there was another and another and another! "There were 8 deer!" He was grinning ear to ear and wanted to go back and find them. I was down, especially since I had my camera. Although I nearly lost my footing in the dried leaves a time or two, we managed to cross paths with the deer once again... Only there weren't 8. There were 12! They kept coming across the ridge, one after the next.
It was truly a beautiful sight!
