House Guest

We recently had our first house guest in our new place (with the exception of my parents and younger brother helping us move down here of course). My Uncle, my Dad's older brother, was coming through the area and was able to take a few days to stay with us! When you're on your own, this is exciting stuff ~ just being around family makes you feel more at home! We had planned a potential visit with him for weeks, so it was an absolute blast to actually have it take place.

Uggs (our personal pet name for him - don't ask, I don't even know) is a huge history buff, so I couldn't wait to take him to the D-Day Memorial Husband and I had discovered during our exploring travels. He absolutely loved it.

  {I *almost* felt like my dad was there. They really aren't much alike, but they make similar facial expressions...It made me smile}

More to follow on this...

{Following our trip to the memorial, Uggs and I hit up the antiques district in the area. (My new favorite thing to do!) And he treated me to these! During the course of my wedding planning, I collected vintage jars and vases and blue ones like these ~ in my area at least ~ were hard to come by. I have them in my kitchen on display!}
