Livin' off the Water

This one was a first for me! Crabbing. I know, I spent 7 years in Maine... I should have done something like this, right? Wrong. Putting a worm on a hook is about as far as I have gone. Until now!

It was a wee bit chilly as we all headed out for our crabbing adventure, but there was something exhilarating about it! Livin' off the land - er, water! As we approached the crab pots, we were all praying a few unfortunate crabs found there way into the mess of metal. And to our delight, there were tons.

Unfortunately for our appetites, there were far too many female crabs and were thrown back in. Our first stop produced one whole crab!
In the end, we took home five large crabs as our prize!
Oh yes. You're not seeing things. We did in fact use this to clean the poor things.
This was a new cleaning method for most of us (myself, most definitely!) Garrett taught us a thing or two about the art of cleaning a crab. I think they enjoyed the process! ;)
He's so cute!

Our rugged hunters of crab! :)
It was only fitting...
Yum!! I have always wanted to eat on newspaper and get messy with crab guts! (Seriously!)
And the final product....
Delicious!! I'm thinking we'll have to do this again! One adventure for the history books! :)
